Global Recycling Day: Alejandro Pena & Keter Spread Awareness About Company’s Green Outlook, Sustainability Efforts

When Alejandro Pena was brought on board the Keter Group as their CEO, he knew he was joining a team that was as deeply focused as they were established. Keter was founded in 1945 in Israel as a regional supplier of resin-based outdoor/indoor goods. Over the years, Keter Group has grown into an international leader and supplier of sustainable outdoor and indoor home decor and storage solutions.

An industry leader thanks to their expertise in the supply chain, Keter Group has also turned into a global leader at the forefront of sustainability. Led by the works of Alejandro Pena, Keter recently celebrated a successful event in the village of Gorcy for a celebration of Global Recycling Day.

Sustainability Initiatives and Keter Group

In the many years since Keter first opened its doors, the company has grown by leaps and bounds into a leader not just in Israel but also in North America and throughout Europe. With a large catalog of sustainable products that are all built to last but sold to be affordable, Keter has been able to lead the charge on sustainable initiatives.

Recently, Keter Group partnered with the Village of Gorcy on March 18, 2023, to celebrate the importance of Global Recycling Day. Many Keter volunteers and employees were in attendance to help guide students through lessons on sustainability and the importance of creating greener outcomes in life.

Keter’s VP of Marketing is Kelly Murfin in Europe and they were quick to opine on the status of Global Recycling Day, “We’ve designed all our products to be 100% recyclable and are on an ambitious trajectory to increase the use of recycled content in our products.”

During the Global Recycling Day festivities, Keter employees gave presentations to highlight the many recycling symbols used in France. The Keter team also pioneered a drawing session where students were able to contribute to the sustainable artwork wall at the nearby Luxembourg factory where Keter products furniture, storage solutions, and organizational units.

CEO Alejandro Pena on Recycling

Keter CEO Alejandro Pena firmly believes that corporations are increasingly going to be called upon to guide sustainability and environmentalist efforts. One way by which Keter is staying ahead of the conversation is through the development of Keter Green Spaces.

Keter Green Spaces is an initiative created by CEO Alejandro Pena to further serve the communities within which they operate. Green Spaces gives people the chance to learn about sustainability and greener outcomes while learning about the businesses that operate within their communities.

Alejandro Pena went on to say, “We have a commitment as part of our sustainability to make sure that no waste coming out of our factories ends up in a landfill.”
